Public Education

The Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools is composed of the communities of Wilber (pop. 1700) and Clatonia (pop. 250) and the adjacent rural area. The economic base is dependent on farming, two meat and grain processing plants and light manufacturing industries. Total K-12 enrollment is 560 with an experienced staff of 39 teachers and 4 administrators. The mission of the district is to prepare each student to be a lifelong learner by providing an educational experience challenging them to reach their potential. In August of 2005, the district completed construction of an elementary school and track facility.  The construction connected the district's school buildings and created a K-12 campus for students, staff, and parents. Curriculum is updated annually in all content areas. The district is categorized as a C-1 school system by the Nebraska School Activities Association for the purposes of activities.
